How to convert feet to meters
Formula: m = ft × 0.3048
Worked example: 6 ft → 6 × 0.3048 = 1.8288 m
Since 1959 a foot is exactly 0.3048 m, so multiplying by 0.3048 is an exact conversion. Pilots and hikers use it often: an altitude of 10,000 ft is 3,048 m, and a 14,000-foot peak in Colorado reaches about 4,267 m.
