How to convert megabytes per second to gigabits per second
Formula: Gbps = MB/s × 0.008
Worked example: 50 MB/s → 50 × 0.008 = 0.4 Gbps
One gigabit per second is 125 MB/s. A 1 Gbps fiber line can therefore download a 50 GB game in a little under 7 minutes at full speed.

What is one megabyte per second?
The megabyte per second is one million bytes, or 8 megabits, per second. Download clients, game launchers and SD cards use it: a card rated 90 MB/s writes 4K video comfortably.
What is one gigabit per second?
The gigabit per second equals 1,000 Mbps. It rates fiber plans, Ethernet ports and USB links: gigabit Ethernet carries 1 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 2 carries 10 Gbps.
